Day 2: Excursion to the glacier paradise TITLIS 3’239 m

In less than 45 minutes from Lucerne, you can reach the monastery village of Engelberg by car or public transport.

From Engelberg, the Titlis-Xpress 8-seater cable car, with the possibility of getting on or off at the Trüb middle station, takes you directly to the Stand station. Then comes the change to the Titlis Rotair, the WORLD’S FIRST ROTARY CABLE CAR, which takes you to your glacier experience. During the 5-minute ride up to Titlis, the cable car rotates once 360 degrees. The view in all directions with snow-capped mountain peaks, steep rock planks and deep crevasses is overwhelming.
Arrived at the summit, you will reach the viewing platform at the south wall window through the Glacier cave via an underground tunnel. The suspension bridge stretches from there to the mountain station of the glacier chairlift Ice Flyer. The TITLIS Cliff Walk is only one meter wide and over 100 meters long. The view into the depth is definitely breathtaking!

Day 3: Excursion to RIGI 1‘800 m Queen of the Mountains

The RIGI tour begins by boat from Lucerne to Vitznau, afterwards the OLDEST CABLE CAR IN EUROPE since 1871 takes you to the “Queen of the Mountains”, 1’800 m above sea level.

On Rigi Kulm you can enjoy a majestic 360° panorama with a view of the Swiss plateau to the Black Forest in Germany, the Vosges in France and the Alps from Glarus to the Bernese Alps. After the return journey by cog railway to Rigi Kaltbad and from there by cable car to Weggis, you will take the ship back to Lucerne. It is only a few steps from the boat station to the Hotel MONOPOL and Hotel ALPINA.

Day 4: The world’s first Cabrio cable car on the STANSERHORN 1’900 m

In less than 25 minutes from Lucerne, you can reach the village of Stans by car or public transport.
In Stans you get on the nostalgic funicular from 1893. Gently, in the shallower terrain along fields and through the woods, you will reach the intermediate station Kälti after a short drive. There you will change to the ultra-modern train – the world’s first Cabrio cable car.

The double-storey cable car with an open top deck was inaugurated in 2012. The cable car has attached carrying and pulling ropes on both sides of the cabins. And the floor area is equipped with stabilizers that allow to compensate for the swaying – an innovation. That is why you feel like you are floating. On the upper deck, that «Cabrio feeling» arised when the wind blows through your hair.

Not only the trip is an experience – at 1‘900 meters above sea level you have various opportunities for relaxation and laziness.
