Four weeks of more than 100 concerts: International classical music stars in the heart of Switzerland.
The Lucerne Festival Orchestra will perform no fewer than six concerts in the summer of 2021: led by music director Riccardo Chailly, the musicians will perform symphonies by Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, and Schubert. They will also collaborate for the first time with Jakub Hrůša, who will conduct works by Mozart and Dvořák. With “artiste étoile” Yuja Wang, they will perform Mozart’s D minor Concerto, K. 466, and will be joined by Igor Levit to inaugurate this year’s focus on Schumann. Additionally, musicians from the orchestra will present a colorful chamber music revue on the Festival theme “Crazy.”
